Can canine gastritis be treated with raw organic honey?

I have read that Manuka Honey is good for gastritis, but what about treating gastritis in my dog? She occasionally gets an upset stomach and vomits. I have taken her to the vet who diagnosed gastritis after doing x-rays and blood work. If this is okay, how much honey is appropriate and how should it be administered. My dog is a mini Dachshund and weighs 12 pounds. I have considered mixing it into some plain non-fat yogurt to also get the benefits of the live active yogurt cultures and the acidopholus.
